Super C Info
We have been looking at super c's and would like some info from those with experience with these units. Is there much improvement in these from a similar size v10 gasser? Also is there more noise in the cockpit from the diesel engine?

Hello, can you specify which diesels? You mean the sprinter based like itasca Navion or winne view? Or larger diesels?
The Diesel engines on the sprinters are not as loud as the gas engines simply because they run at lower rpms than a gasser. That doesn't mean it's not noisy, it just means it's a little less whine up hills. Drive one ! better gas milage for sure. Ours was 16-17mpg. Great little Rv, goes anywhere.

Thanks for the reply. No, I am not talking about the Sprinter based units. I am looking at the Ford or DuraMax larger units- 34' or 35'.

I had a Jayco Seneca with Duramax diesel. I don't think the noise was bad at all. I had it for four years and really liked it for the most part, except with a long rear end hanging the ride was not very smooth! If I were you I would definitely go for the diesel.
All the best!

Dynamax Super C
We bought a 2013 Dynamax Dynaquest 340XL 2 years ago and could not be happier. Our rig is 34'11" long with 2 slides, a full length awning, tons of cargo storage, 20,000 pound hitch, 8kw auto start generator, 85 gal fresh water, 44 gal gray, 44 gal black, 2 15k heat pumps, power electric and water hose reels, electronic automatic awning, electric steps, in-motion satellite, 3kw inverter/charger, tankless water heater, high polished ceramic tile, beautiful mahogany cabinetry and paneling, ultra leather throughout, china macerator toilet, air ride, air brakes, air suspension seats, Freightliner business class M2 heavy chassis, Cummins ISC 8.3 350 HP / 1,000 Ft Pounds Torque, great fit/finish and high quality inside & out, 22.5 tires, 33,000 Gross weight / 54,000 Combined weight, ~7,000 payload for passengers & cargo, exhaust brake, etc. Plenty of power for passing climbing mountains, etc. Cab is very well insulated, comfortable and quite. Excellent ride which is not effected by cross winds and passing semi's. A bit pricy but a very reliable and well built machine. Definitely worth checking out.

I purchased my Silver Crown 45' Super C over a year ago and love it. Apples and oranges when comparing to a V 10 gasser. Mine has the Detroit 515 with a 12 spd auto. I purchased it for the 40k towing capacity. The RV drives incredible. There us a night and day difference in cockpit noise compared to a DP. Once the C had gone through the gears and your crushing, you forget all about the engine noise, personally, I enjoy the sound of the engine. It's amazing the technology that goes into these machines, and to hear the computer make the determination of the shifts, gears etc is awesome.

I'm satisfied with our F-550 with the 6.7 diesel. More than enough power, good mileage, 10-11 mpg. Don't hear too much of the engine, but I do like hearing it anyway.

We have the Thor 33sw with F550 diesel. Same as above, not very loud, good power and mileage. We tow a 22' enclosed trailer and get 9mpg no trailer 11-12.

We moved up to a new Jayco Seneca from an E-450-based Four Winds late last year. We absolutely love the Seneca - like the Dynamax described above, the Seneca is built on a Freightliner M2 chassis. There is a ton of storage space and plenty of power for towing. Engine noise isn't an issue - it's much quieter than the V10 in our old camper.

We have a 2005 Gulf Stream Endura 34' with the 6.6 Duramax diesel; couldn't be happier; we always have an offroad jeep on a trailer or towed; very little engine noise, and for long downhills, has an exhause brake that basically eliminates using the brakes; hope this helps.

We just ordered a Dynamax Force, the air suspension is a huge upgrade but the air brakes are also a big upgrade, especially if you are going to pull anything. But our f550 road pretty good, either way we love the Super C.

Thanks for the replies. Those who have the F-550, have you noticed the handling issues experienced by people (including me) with e-350/450?

Huh?
The hydraulic brakes are ineffective when towing?
