Things I learned from our first trip in the class C
- Stow all things.
- Close the fridge really good, no better.
- Stow all things.
- Eggs, they don't do well fling across the floor, so again, close the fridge.
- The ice maker, yeah, stow that. The shower is a good place, the desk....is not.
- Don't put chocolate near the motor housing. Did you not learn anything from growing up with a Ford Econoline van???
- Make sure the stairs go up.
- Jack knifing is bad, even worse when your bikes are in the middle. So much for that brand new swagman....and my bike.
- Sleeping in a Walmart parking lot can actually be more quiet than a camp ground.

I went up over a curb with our 2000 DSDP, an upper cabinet door came open and a Corell plate fell out on the real tile floor. Pulled over when I could and spent quite a while cleaning up the shards of glass and boy are they sharp!!
Then there's the crock put that bit the dust when I forgot to take it off the counter. Nothing in it but it was my wife's favorite and we've never been able to find another like it! Two ceramic liners, one divided and one undivided.

Never seen a crock pot like that! My ice maker crashed twice. Fridge opened twice, pantry once. I jimmy ridged the pantry, so that won't happen. Well, at least not on curves.

When breaking camp. Leave one of the end caps off the dump hose when you try to collapse it. Otherwise it's like wrestling with a large angry boa constrictor. It's a good thing the wife has excellent hearing and heard air hissing. Would be still fighting that sucker.

Empty all the fluids in all tanks before you head out. Excluding the propane tank of course. Traveling dry weight will improve your gas mileage by 30%.

Really?
My unit gets on average 9mpg as equipped for camping, 9.5 mpg empty, not 11.7mpg which would be 30%.

Wish there was more tips here. Will be traveling in class c 1st time next weekend. I know to secure the glass shower! Will only be bringing paper plates and platic utensils (only traveling to dog show for the weekend).
How much water would you put in if where you are going does not have water hookup? They do have a bathroom and shower luckily, so I'm thinking only minimum for qucik bathroom break if needed.

hey, this was just a thread about what I learned. We did pretty well, just made a few mistakes. Wasn't started it for anything else, but entertainment.

take a 2' piece of broomstick, so your DW can use it to turn the lavatory fan On and Off.
take a garden sprayer of insecticide so you can spray down the area around your CG picnic table in order to keep fire ants from biting you into next week!

I learned from a friend's experience to empty all my waste tanks before hitting the road.
His black tank support bracket broke and the full tank was dragging on the ground. By the time he pulled over it had been ground quite thin.
Of course it split wide open just as he tried lifting/prying it back into place...
