Thor Four Winds vs Coachmen Freelander?

Hi,

My wife and I have narrowed our choices down to a Four Winds 22E or a Coachmen Freelander 22E. Either would be a Chevy.

Any opinions on which company and/or model is better? ...in terms of quality? ...service? ...other factors?

We're planning to decide next Monday, so any thoughts would be most welcome!

Thanks!!

Tom

We have a 2011 freedom elite 21C. It is a Thor made product for camping world. It has the Ford V10 on the E 350 chassis. We have put 8000 miles on it over a year and no chassis or engine problems. The big side window had a rattle and one storage box over the exhaust heated up when driving however camping world fixed the problems. We have two kids and a shepherd we haul all over the country side. I added a second house battery and airbags on the rear. The airbags really help when driving on windy highway 10 here in Texas

Thanks for the helpful info

I just noticed a mistake in my original post.

I should have written: I am considering either Thor Four Winds 22E or a Coachmen Freelander 21 QB. The Four Winds we're looking at on Monday is on a Chevy chassis with a V8 6 liter engine.

Any comments, pro or con, on either RV - or their Thor and Coachmen cousins - would be most welcome.

Thanks!!!

Tom

Coachmen Freelander 21QB Comparison

Well I'm a familiar with these two small class c motorhomes and as I remember they are very similar. The 22E had a larger bathroom, the new style upgraded fiberglass front cab, and the U-Booth was larger. Both the Coachmen Freelander 21QB the the Four Winds are on the same Chevy cut-a-way chassis with the same specs.

The Four Winds uses matched trim and awnings on the exterior where the Freelander Class C does not.

As for quality I'm not familiar with the quality of the Coachmen Class C Motorhomes. I'm on my second Thor product and have no complaints. Although the few times I've contacted Thor they have has excellent support. I think the biggest difference would have to be that Thor is the only manufacturer with 24 hour 7 days a week support directly from the factory, I guess that says a lot.

Well that's my 2 cents.
