Question Thor Freedom Elite 28Z

Hi everyone. First, I'm a newby with a 2013 Freedom Elite 28Z. I am hoping there are others out there that might be able to provide me with some "Good Ideas" on any convenient improvements.

I would like to somehow fabricate a mount for an outside TV. Maybe a swivel mount that is mounted just inside the main storage. but then I'm not sure how to get coax run to it that is connected to main MH line.

Any other hints are appreciated.

My concern would be cutting holes in a new MH. Why not just set it up on a table and have it movable. That way you aren't cutting things. I would be concerned with the mod if you went to sell the rig. I know I have no desire to have an outside TV.

mods on Freedom Elite 28z

In answer to your question concerning modifications on your 28z. My wife and I own a 2012 Freedom Elite 28z and we have made several modifications. There are just the two of us and we don't have any pets, but we like to do yoga in addition to our running exercise program. Rather than make a spectacle of ourselves performing the yoga poses outside, we set out to create enough room to do it inside. First, the dinette had to go. It was not comfortable and took up way too much room. Not to mention It was next to impossible for both of us to watch TV. To do this the plugin under the table had to be relocated to just below the bottom shelf beneath the sink. The propane detector also had to be moved forward and higher up on the wall where it was in the open and accessible without crawling around on my knees. We had bought a reclining loveseat to replace the original jackknife sofa, but we had discovered that it was impossible to watch TV from there as well. So we moved the loveseat into the slide out space made vacant by removing the dinette. Then we removed the TV mounting and replaced it with one of the telescoping arms. That problem was solved. Then we built a five foot long fold down table and mounted it on the opposite wall, and bought two leather dining chairs do go along with the table. When we want to exercise, we move the chairs, fold the table down out of the way and there is plenty of room. Also, you mentioned wanting an outside TV mounted in your basement area. That wound be possible by mounting a fold down TV bracket to the metal housing inside the basement where it would be out of the way when you are traveling. There are plugins on the outside wall. It would only take a few seconds to plug the TV in. you could also mount a cable connection on the wall inside the basement. Haven't done this one, so specifics are a little hard. Just theory. Hope this helps. Again, different strokes for different strokes.

We almost went with the 28z, but saw the 31L that we liked better. It has a place for a tv already in the storage compartment.
