Thoughts on Jayco Greyhawk...NEED OPINIONS

Ive been searching for a used Class C for quite some time now. Looking for 28 to 29 footer mostly Winnebago and Coachmen. I came across a 2005 Jayco Greyhawk 31SS with the Ford v10 E450 combo. While a little bigger than what we have been looking at it seems to fit all of our needs. What Im wondering about is the JAyco brand and this particular model. Hoping some folks here have experience with the model within a couple years of the 2005 Im looking at. Anything in particular to double check. All thoughts, comments, and suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!!

IMHO any class c that was built prior to bankruptcies in 2007-2008 are decent class c's for the price point. Things to look for in a 10+ year old coach are, water stains anywhere on the inside, fiberglass roof is a must, cabinets should still fit the roof and sides with no gaps, as far as systems go onan 4k's run forever IF taken care of, fuel pumps seem to go out on the onan 4k's easy replacement from amazon, chassis Ford v10 with the 5 speed is tried and proven, expect 7 mpg towing 3-4k road, tires although cheap on a class c should be no more than 4 years old with 7years the max. Ex travel buddy in CA had a jayco 31ss and it was a decent rv, he bought it new and rolled some 50k miles on it in 2 years. No major issues.one disadvantage to a 31ft class c is the 15k roof ac unit will barely keep up in 100+ degree temps in the daytime.
Happy camping!

When we were shopping for our class C (we bought an Isata3) when comparing rigs we found the finish work and quality of build to be lacking in the Jayco products including the Greyhawk

We own a 2006 Jayco Greyhawk model 27DS and are very satisfied with it. Jayco quality during that time period was quite good. We have yet to find a single screw that has loosened! Our coach has 77,000 miles on it now and we have just done routine maintenance over the years: oil changes, new batteries, new tires, replaced all hoses & belts in the engine compartment (at 10 yrs), etc. We keep checking roof for leaks - - none so far - - have done some re-caulking as needed.
