Tire inflation
Has anyone found a good device to keep in the motorhome to use to keep the tires inflated so I don't have to drive to Les Schwab everytime I want to go on a trip?

Air compressor works for me. I have three of them, two portable ones and the one on the engine of our DP. I carry one of the portable ones with me as the onboard air doesn't work that well for filling tires to 120 psi.

We just purchased a small pancake one from Walmart that is rated to 125 psi for under $60. I have not used it yet, but expect it to handle the pressures needed on our Class C.

I'm thinking of putting a air hose reel on the MH. Use the compressor on the engine. The reason I'm probably not going to do this....... as I go to a Costco and they fill my MH tires with NITROGEN. Their gauge is pretty accurate and of course I have tire air monitors.

Tire inflation
Well I jumped the gun and posed this same question just a few minutes ago. Then I decided to look and see if any old forum input was already there. Well there was. Seems I already had my problem solved. I too own a Porter-Cable pancake compressor that will reach 150psi and it has done well with the need to inflate up to the 120psi I desire. So the answer is the pancake compressor. Bought mine at Home Depot and a 50' hose. Doesn't take that much room and does add peace of mind.

If you fill them with your own compressor, you're getting 80% nitrogen anyway. Don't worry about it, the whole nitrogen thing is a scam. Lots of threads about it already.

Interesting. What is the theory behind the 80% nitrogen? Curious.
I use a portable compressor as well but it takes multiple recharge cycles on the compressor to fill my front tires to 120 psi cold.

I bolted a Porter-Cable 6 Gal./150 PSI in the rear compartment with a 50' lightweight hose and chuck with air gauge. Runs on shore power or the generator. No more finding air worries.

When filling with a regular compressor, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen. It is the other approx 20% that some feel is problematic, and willing to pay to eliminate. Using the forum's search feature can reveal discussion on nitrogen for tires.

A portable compressor is always a good idea, but be sure to get one rated at at least 2 CFPM @ 90 psi. The little 0.5 @ 90 psi units are frustratingly slow when used on high volume, high pressure RV tires.

We brought a small air compressor (Campbell Haufeld) around $50.00 from Wal-Mart several years back to use on my 34' Hurricane. It did the job slow but got done. Now I will be using it on the Jamboree. On the Jamboree I has steel stems install on all six tires and valve extender for the dual tires.
