Tires Recall (check your tires)

I just picked up our 2012 Itasca and noticed all the tires had large cracks around the tread line. The coach has under 8,000 miles on it and the tires are only 18 months old by date.

I called the tire dealer and they said they were on recall for replacement.

16 inch Michelin Tires

I am getting all 7 tires replaced for no cost.

The tire dealer was saying this is a big replacement recall for Michelin.

Yes there are already some threads on this. The recall started in Oct 2013.

I had mine all replaced as they were recalled. All seven looked fine to me. Mine were replaced with BF Goodrich commercial E rated tires, big shortage on Michelin because of the recall.

I just had six BF Goodrich commercial E rated tires removed from my coach after two developed bubbles in the road tread and another blew out at 60 mph on the freeway.

My tires had 18,000 miles on them and were 20 months old. I ran them with 80# in rear and 75# front. I had my rig weighed three times and each time I was 328 to 504 under Max weight. I provided my weigh tickets to BF Goodrich for warranty consideration. It's been 2 months and no word for adjustment.

I went to Firestone and hope these last longer than my last.

We just had ours replaced. 8,000 miles on them. Received the letter in Jan and finally new tires arrived.

Replace mine with BF Goodrich commercial tires. Hope these hold up better. I did pay for the warranty on the tires.

Wow...thanks for this post. Had been unhappy with our 3 year old Michelin LTXs with the way they were dry rotting despite my care of them. Went to check the codes on the tires yesterday and all them fall under the recall. Only downside is the replacement tires are on national back order. May be up to 30 days for them to come in. Dealer said I could go with another brand now but said the redesigned LTX is a very good tire. No trips planned so we will wait for now. Check your tires!!!

It is kind of scary to think these tires would come apart while on the road. Glad the post helped you.

Had my Michelins replaced due to recall in December and have just received replacement cost from Michelin here in the UK, I had put 18000 miles on since RV new in 2010 so now set up for a few years.

Just had mine replaced on the 2011 Fleetwood Jamboree Sport. Just sold it so new owners have 7 new tires. Went with Michelins. No cost.

Just got all mine replaced today. Took a little over a month for them to come in.

I really was not worried about the old ones. 200 failures in 1.5 million recalled isn't very many. My guess is that's the same or even less for failures of every tire model out there.

Thanks for posting this. We bought our mh used so didn't get a recall notice. We checked and low and behold our Michelins are recalled. Just waiting for six new tires to come in. Only $25 each to install them. Thanks so much for the info.

You should not have to pay for having them mounted, that should be included. NTB tried to charge me so I called the 800 number on the recall and they took care of it in just a few min.
