Toilet Replacement

I’m interested to know if anyone has replaced the toilet in their RV.
The toilet in my Thor Freedom Elite 30FE, according to the manual on the Thor owner’s resource page, is a Thetford Aqua Magic ll low profile.
The bowl is porcelain and is plenty wide, but we would prefer an elongated bowl which would make it easier tending to business.
I guess I’m looking for recommendations on a good interchangeable replacement.
Thanks for any input.

Replacing toilets is fairly easy, you always need a new seal for the bottom. Go to Thetford, get the dimensions and start looking. sometimes PPL and others have big sales of RV toilets, look around.

This is your starting point with the dimensions of what you have. Now just compare descriptions and dimensions. FWIW I have replaced several in the past to get taller elongated. Hate the low profile roundies. You can get China or plastic, low dollar to high dollar - up to you.

Never seen an elongated bowl RV toilet. If you find one let us know.

I ended up purchasing a Dometic 320 series low profile toilet.
https://www.amazon.com/Dometic-Profi...ay&sr=8-2&th=1
I had to go with the low profile because the existing toilet sits on a platform.

I replaced an older (discontinued model) RV sized Thetford with an elongated bowl Dometic 320 last year, overall it has been great, priced at under $200 from PPL on sale, though it did take a little time to get used to the dual stage flush pedal. Mine is the full height model as the toilet is floor mounted, I would recommend one to anyone with a large enough bathroom.

Elongated Dometic 320 replaced my old round plastic based one. Make sure you have the room in the toilet area for the elongated bowl. My toilet is in a small enclosure. The elongated bowl takes up a little more room but well worth it. Amazon is where I bought it. Easy exchange with a new seal.

It looks like you got it done, how did the project go, and how do you like the result?

Replacing the toilet was a fairly easy job. Toilet mounting is, for the most part, standard (hardware, mounting location, etc).
I was able to use the existing mounting flange, but did use a new rubber seal.
The time consuming part was figuring out how to route the water line since the new toilet had a different location for water input.
I used blue Pex tubing and some new fittings. I borrowed my Son’s crimper to attach the collars.

Overall results are great. The elongated bowl makes it easier to take care of business. DW likes the fact that this toilet is a little taller than the original, making it easier for her to get off of it.

Ah, I had the same issue with the inlet placement, I used a short braided water supply hose in a loop to solve my issue.
