Only, like always and never should usually be carefully considered before using.
After many weeks of research I purchased an American Car Dolly. It is very well designed and built. I use a Tekonsha P3 electric brake controller for instantaneous, adjustable and proportional braking at a good price online. The dolly would be an excellent value at twice the price.
I lock my ramps to the dolly with a Krypton U Bolt bicycle lock which also makes an excellent second handle when moving the dolly by hand.

Acme Tow Dolly
Take a look at the Acme Tow Dolly.... great video on the web site. , also a very comprehensive comparison chart for all the dollies. The Acme stores upright on its own.

Ok, I stand corrected. These forums are great for that, and a smile doesn't always make nice. Acme is still a unique design. The American is nice, but not widely available retail where I live.

After MUCHO research we bought an ACME e-z-tow with surge brakes, we highly recommend and it's shipped to your door.

Did you research the added stress added to the toad suspension?

I have an ACME tow dolly. Please explain the "added stress".
The front tires stay in place. The steering is unlocked. I see normal steering wheel movements, just no power steering.
Several thousand miles towing my Honda Accord on the ACME tow dolly and nothing has broken or fallen off.
A general statement without scientific data is USELESS!

Then maybe you can explain to me where this travel disappears to if it is not being absorbed by the bushings and lateral flex of the rear tires.

There are no stresses placed on the car...if the steering is unlocked and the safety chains are free to allow the dolly/car set to turn.
The Eze-Tow negotiates turns in a very similar way as flat towing...the car's steering Pivots to allow the dolly to track behind the RV in the turn...half the turn geometry is made by the dolly and half by the toad's steering.
We have an Acme Eze-Tow because it is hammer-simple, and the lightest dolly on the market for it's capacity.
The American dolly is a good unit, but weighs more, requires more assembly if drop shipped, and has the pivot pan = a single pivot point which is a failure risk and could allow dolly fender to car door impact in a jack knife situation.
Safe travels
