travelcraft class c motorhome

I bought a 1985 travelcraft 25ft class c and on all the trips I've taken (3 or 4) the trip will be going fine and all of a sudden the engine sputters and if I try to give it more gas (trying to get it not to chug) the motor just bogs down and I loose speed If I pull over and press the gas peddle a few times it goes away and then we continue on then it may happen again and it may not I have drove it to the oregon coast from portland 137 miles with no chugging or bogging, after staying a few days go to leave and drive 5 miles and chug bog and start the whole thing over again. I've drove it to detriot lake from portland about a hundred miles and again no problem stay a few days head back and get 45 miles or so and chug bog and pull over floor it a few times and away we go!!! I've changed the fuel switch it has 2 tanks and does it on both tanks so thought that was it maybe but not! Rebuilt the carburator except for the float bowls but they looked okay but the same problem. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!! I have trips planned this year starting in april so would like to get it fixed.....

Had same problem on a Chevy chassis - was fuel filter mounted on passenger side
frame rail.
