TV reception pre-digital

Found out that the cable input on my 05 Chateau has nothing but snow. If I connect direct to TV great picture. Is this because the cable is pre-digital. Over the air signal also is a problem to the bedroom TV. Anyone else had this problem ?

Do you have the amplifier switch on or off?

Most or many MH have a board and switch like this. (see picture)

If the switch is on the Antenna goes to both TV's. If the switch is off the outdoor cable goes to both TV's. Often with a satellite dish there is too much loss through the splitter and you need to hook up directly to the tv or do a mod to the board.

The cable that is pre-digital is the same cable that digital uses.
Same as the roof antenna. The old black & white antennas worked the same as color antennas.

The 17 year old OEM cables to my bedroom Smart TV work like they did with the old CRT TV.

Do you also have an '05 vintage TV? If so, it likely has an analog tuner, meaning it won't pick up digital signals. The signal coming in from cable is still analog, usually, which is why the TV works on cable. As previously stated, neither the cable or the antenna care if the signal is analog or digital... ST
