all gas is basically 87 octane. chemicals are added to "higher" octane so the gas burns sloowwer. same amount of energy just slower burning to prevent knocking in high compression engines. so you spend more money for less.

My brother just got back from his first trip in his brand new 27' Sun Seeker V10 going from Phoenix to above Young Az. via Payson. This trip has a ton of big grades going both directions with a net gain of almost 7000' at the highest elevation of 7800'. On the round trip he got a calculated 8.9 mpg and was hoping for 7mpg. I drive this same route and its the worst for getting good mpg. He was not towing and there was not heavy winds. I think a lot depends on how you operate the gas peddle. I believe the mpg claims.

hi iam new here just learning all the navagation of the page please dont yell at me yet. I have a thor c class E350 V10 27ft. with a 5 star tune and a up grade.. i pull a 3500 lb car on a flat road with little wind i get 7.5--8 mpg thank the 5 star tune stoped all that serching for gears. i would like to know how you get that mileage.. please tell us iam sure others would like to know too

you all seem to forget the nascar draft, when that toad is only 3' off back bumber it like drafting, only see it on mpg when starting out, when u get in a semi prop wash u can fell it bouncing u around a bit
