We have a 2000 Vanguard VXL2000 built by Peak Industries Sask.
May not be the same make as yours
Cheers

kodiak? nope, just Vanguard, 20 ft house on it and abt 24 ft overall. Ex rental from Canadream. The Kodiak is a lot fancier inside, more knick knacks but basically the same floor layout. Your's I believe has a bed over the cab right?

Cheers

I doubt any of the rentals have gen sets. I bought a little 2 cycle 1KW for charging the house battery. I also got one of those Black and Decker inteli chargers but I can only use it at 20 amps. I welded another hitch on the rear and mounted the genny on that. Now that we don't take the scooter I may rig up the 3KW genny I have using the two hitch recepticles.
Righ now I'm trying to find out why the house battery doesn't charge from the alternator while we are driving. What a mess of wires around the isolator solenoid.
I'll bet there are a lot of similarities between our two RV's
Cheers

Found a lot of info on the web tonight including the location of the relay plus the wiring for a ford cut away. Quite interesting as the system was only designed for charging a group 70 (I think) small deep cell or to power electric brakes on a trailer. To charge large house batteries nothing smaller than a #8 ga wire. Our RV wiring is certainly no bigger than #14 ga (if that). I guess when I put in the two US 2200 Deep cells that relay system's days were numbered. Funny thing is it is fused at 60 amps but maybe that same fuse handles the truck battery too. Been an interesting search.
Cheers

Just bought a 22ft 2000 Kodiak made by Peak. Not sure it is fancier than a Vanguard, but at 44,000 miles it is in great condition.
Any other Kodak owners out there?
Also, anyone use the low ambient setting for the fridge for winter travel or camping? How low can the outside temp be and still have the fridge work?
