Verona or Seneca...Seneca or Arctic Fox

Hello. Thanks to all who have helped me with technical questions in the past. We are about to embark on our REAL retirement, going the mostly snowbird route. We already live in the northern Rockies, but we are slowing things down here...probably no more livestock...so we can travel a bit and get away from the snow here in the northern end of then northern Rockies.

We tow with a 2012 DRW F350 I am pretty fond of, especially as there have been mornings here at the ranch when it was the only thing that started right up. We have a 2018 Arctic Fox 32-5M fifth wheel that has been mostly gathering dust the last 18 months because of other concerns. Now we are ready to spend 5 to 6 months every winter in a rig and possibly go full time using Thousand Trails or the like.

We have been looking at a used 2018 Jayco Seneca for over 40% off the price of a new one and I have a two door Jeep Sahara to tow behind. I am looking at surgery on both shoulders and being long term bouncing around every few weeks. My knees also need surgery (ranch life) so I was thinking that eliminating a few steps might be nice. I really like the Arctic Fox but overall the Seneca seems more convenient. I hate trading in such a new rig, but I am pretty sure this our last RV.

Question(s)

Should I hold off a bit and look for a nice used Renegade instead of the Seneca, or am I crazy for even thinking of trading the Arctic Fox (and truck, maybe) for a Jayco product, even a Seneca?

Thanks in advance for any consideration. Be brutally honest because that will be the most helpful and I have a thick hide. Frankly we only got the 5er for short runs, business in California, and use as a shepherd's wagon and I hate the thought of retiring but time grinds a person down. So there you have it. Thanks again.

Which to choose ?

If you like driving a truck, get a Seneca. Engine is up in front of you.
Were it me, and I had a "do over" I would get a class "A" gas, and particularly one the had a small dog house and swiveling seats, as you get MUCH more living space.
No matter what you look at, be sure and drive it for quite a distance AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS to see if you can live with the wind noise.
If the seller just wants to go around the block, run away fast.

I cannot afford a diesel pusher, and I don't know how to work on them myself, so I am looking to convert from a Jayco Seneca 33ss to a class "A" myself. This after spending $400.00 for a complete cab install of "Killmat" sound deadener. And it is still too noisy for me.

Just my opinion.

I'd go with the motorhome/towed over the truck/trailer combo, if physical mobility issues are becoming an issue.

Just go with whatever seems like the best deal, with the best floor plan for you, and the best amenities, and enjoy.
