Water hook up plugged?

When the hose is hooked up to a water source, the water barely flows. The hose is fine and the the water is running strong. Pressure regulator and filter have been checked and are flowing. So I turned the pump on and the water works fine in the rig. Can the water intake get kinked? plugged? Any help is appreciated, single gal traveling alone.

Do you have to use a valve to go from Tank fill to City water? Try resetting the valve.

There very likely is a check (one way) valve to prevent the water pump from pushing water back out the hose connection. That might be clogged of not opening properly to let water into the RV.

water valve

That's interesting. I'm not aware of a valve. But I did fill up the tank yesterday. The water flowed from the city connection this morning, then stopped. The water fill is on the opposite side of the coach from the city water hook up.

OK, you don't have to switch a valve from a single hose connection between Tank fill and City water. But you still probably have a check valve behind the hose connection. It could be blocked by a piece of dirt or mineral build up. You could try putting vinegar into the hose and see if you can dissolve any mineral blockage. Just have water in your tank to be able to flush the lines of the vinegar after it sits a few hours.

Do you have a screen in the hose connection that could be plugged with debris or sand?

no the hose is not plugged. The hose has been connected to this water supply for 48 hours, ran fine, then stopped. Prior to this, I had been boondocking for 2 weeks.

Interesting, on my Winni I have fresh fill in the rear and a valve for fresh fill OR use shore water in the wet bay. Are you sure there is not a valve there? If not I would say the back flow check valve at the inlet is the problem. After you solve the problem suggest you use a shore water filter like the blue one you see on a lot of rigs.

An off the wall suggestion. What is the city water pressurre? If it is low the restriction could be in the screw on screens on each faucet and your pump pressure is high enough to get flow.

Mine did the same after an overnight freeze. A chunk of ice flew down the hose when it thawed and hit the check valve, breaking it internally. I was able to disassemble it and piece it back together with some glue until I could get a new coupling/check valve. Pump worked fine in the meantime but would pump water back out of the shore water connection if the hose was disconnected. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I replaced the valve/inlet for $15. All fixed. There was a piece broken in the check valve, so it was best to replace the fitting. I do use a pressure regulator and a filter and now have a screen also. You guys gave me the confidence to fix it my self, so thanks so much!!!
