Water Inlet question

Alrighty,
the water inlet check valve seems to have gone out on my 2006 Jayco 31ss. It whistles when water is flowing and water runs out when not connected. I pulled the assembly out slightly this morning to look at what kind of plumbing I had (the RV is parked 30 minutes from my house so a special trip is required) and it looked like a male 1/2" threaded into a plastic fitting. There wasn't a lot of extra room in the pipe to pull it out, but I am reasonably confident it is male. My first place to look was camper world and they seem to only list Female threads. Am I missing something? Should I continue to look for a male ended inlet or return to the camper and recheck my work?

Not sure you need to limit yourself to buying at a camping store. Most RV plumbing is found in big box home improvement stores. While the hose might not allow it to be pulled out to see, perhaps there's room to add a 'gender changing' fitting if installing a new check valve.
