Just as an information point for those of you considering a Wayfarer... today my husband and I made the trek into Houston to look over a couple of new Wayfarers at a local dealership. Here is the actual OCCC sticker on a 2018 Wayfarer. Yep... you are reading that right; 672 pounds total OCCC. Please pay attention to this when you are shopping for a new RV.

Real wood is heavy! We discovered the same as you with the Wayfarer. Tiffin is relatively new in the Sprinter chassis game, maybe the anticipated new Sprinter with more capacity will play into their hand. Will see.

Honestly, I was expecting much better from Tiffin. I was totally unimpressed with all 3 new Wayfarers that we looked at. The finishes/decor looked dated and kind of tired. I opened one cabinet in a bedroom and there was an entire mass of wiring just exposed.

We also looked at a Thor Citation which was surprisingly nice, at least as far as fit and finish. I have no plans to consider a Thor, but I was curious. I could not locate the weight limits sticker on the Thor anywhere.

The best looking C we saw today was an Entegra Esteem 30X. Not a Sprinter, but VERY nice.

Sarah, did they by chance have a Entegra Quest you could compare the Tiffin too. I really like the look of the Quest just concerned with the lake of dealers that support the Mercedes chassis. The Esteem seems very nice but I think all models are 32'6" long and I really wanted a shorter RV. Does anyone out there have aQuest if so what are your thoughts?

David--unfortunately the dealership did not have a Qwest in stock; they have only recently been carrying the new Entegra C class coaches. From the Entegra website, the Qwest floorplans are both 25'2" long. The Esteem is longer than we wanted but it is still a downsize and really nice. Even with a lot of upgrades (2 a/c units, large fridge, etc.) it still has 1300 pounds of carrying capacity and a 7500 lb hitch for towing. (Of course one will still have to be mindful of the tow weight to remain within the GCWR.)

In looking at several Sprinters so far and across several brands, we notice that the "rear slide bed" models are definitely suffering in the OCCC.

Sarah, if you don't mind what dealership did you visit? I am in Houston often to visit my sister and would like to stop and see the esteem.

It's at DeMontrond RV on I-45 north, David. They also have a couple of the Odysseys but they are kind of plain-Jane IMO. Nice, but without the "wow" of the Esteem.

Oh, and if you weren't already aware... Entegra (and Jayco) have a 2-year warranty.
