A&E Weather pro are operated either by a physical switch or a wireless Remote.
Here is the list of possible things that can cause it to open in a wind storm. NOT Necessary in order of suspicion.
The switch: True story, Had an RVer come to me for help when a strong wind was suspected and his awning would not roll up, Well, had to use the "Last resort" Method to get it secured but did, called service, after two new motors were put in (under warranty) she replaced both the switch which was sticking and the control module which failed to cut off power to the motor when it reached end of travel
And the "B" part of this is bad wires, A mouse nibbling can do all sorts of strange things.
Next suspect is the wireless remote.. Pocket press of the button (mine hangs on a hook inside the door so that can not hapen) or a foreign remote with the same RF codes or other radio frequency interference.. I normally toss 100 watts of RF into a 50-83 foot wire on various frequencies and modulation schemes and have never had that problem with mine, but it could happen.
Finally,,, If yours is the old style with the Lighthouse wind sensor (I do not know about the new ones with the motion detector arms) I would assume a control board error might cause it to unfurl when it should be furling. Again have never heard of this but it is, in theory, possible.
By the way, My lighthouse works so well I disabled it.
Home is where I park it!
