What is it??
Have this "sensor" or something. Not sure what it is or what it could be for. Since the unit was purchased used, the dealer had no clue. Does anyone know "What IT is??"

Is it inside a cabinet where audio/video components might be installed?

It is the master switcher for directing signals from cable TV, audio components, etc. to speakers. I presume those are push buttons, yes? One group is likely the choice selection of IN, and the other is OUT. It may be a tad more complicated looking in the rear. Pull it out to have a peek.

I'm actually asking about the sensor to the right of the video control panel. Here is another picture. To the right is a sensor or something. Not sure what out goes to or operates.

Oops, my bad. I see the ref to the sensor now. Is it possible to track where the wire goes?

Looks like an IR receiver. Pointing the remote for audio/visual components will probably result in something happening?

Ain't no sensor, it's a plug in.
I have a whole coach sterio control that looks a lot like that,
The lower line controls the front and back speakers.
If you can get closer and read the writing it should say things like front TV, Back TV front speakers, back speakers, cable, sattelite and such.
Thats where my money is.

This is what I'm asking about. The long audio/video panel controls the cable, SAT, VCR and DVD for the front and back. This THING is wired to the audio /video control panel. There is no surround sound system, and the only remotes we have control the TV. This THING, as far as we know, has no purpose. We were wondering if anyone else has or had such a thing, or new what it might go to.

I think we have identified the BOMB - and agree it's either a blue tooth or remote sensor. Gonna have to pull the BOMB and see where it plugs in or start pointing remote at it. Just 2 cents worth and worth every penny.
On edit - everything has a purpose and this does or did too. Just sayin.

LOL... I like that, the BOMB!
Yes, it is there and staying regardless of what IT does. So far, my two year old has not found it (knock on wood), so its safe. I just figured I would see if anyone knew...
Thanks!

My Box of Many Buttons gave me heck - short leads etc and some were pulled out. Took a ladder to get at eye level and scoot it around to reconnect things. Fortunately I did not have a UFO (Unidentified Freaking Object) to figure out. And mine is on a shelf and easy to pull. Yours looks a little more secure. But - that thing got there somehow and it doesn't look like a stock item.
Good luck - someone will probably be around soon who has one too. Nuthin new under the sun.

Lol... I'm surprised the dealer had no clue. I'm assuming the PO did it themselves or had an electronics shop do the work.
Thanks again.

Just my 2 cents, but it looks like it might be a satellite radio antenna.
