Winabago view coach side door area rattle/squeeks

From the beginng we had intermittent coach side door area squeeks and rattles. Looked for wear marks, spray lubricated the door edges, make sure door fully closed, screen didn't seem to move against door, checked the nearby cabintry, etc, etc, and the rattle continued and the Winnabago dealer service people couldn't find it.
Finally I was pressing on the forward awning post, and found the two sections were loose enough to rattle against each other, where as the rear post were tight. So I got some closed cell foam and cut a section to squeeze between the awning post and the side of the van, which stopped the rattling and squeeks so far on several drives.
So another candidate for squeek and rattle sources are the awning posts.

Good post and good idea. Some are content to just live with the sounds as part of owning a motorhome, but I also seek out and eliminate as many as possible.

Yep...me too. Our coach door squeeks with every little bump in the road. Sounds like laughing hyenas. Driving me bonkers actually. I have not found a solution as yet.
