Wiring Diagrams/User Manuals - 1979 Dodge Honey 23' RV (with 360 engine)

Hi There,

I'm new the forum and new to owning a motorhome. We recently bought a 1979 Dodge Honey 23' RV and are in the process of cleaning it up and fixing it mechanically. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find wiring diagrams or any kind of manuals related to the engine of our motorhome? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Elaine

The engines/ transmissions, in the cab & chassis were the same as the P/Us of the same vintage so any of those manuals would be a help.
Chassis owners manual might be available online , I'll post a link as soon as I check what's available.

Weak point of the engine , was the camshaft timing gears; factory used a nylon coated camshaft gear that was prone to failing. Double row roller drive chain, was the fix. If you have no history on this being changed , it's something I'd consider before venturing to far.

I tried 3 sites so far, nothing pre 2004 online , a couple offering 1981 books for sale. I will keep digging.
BTW. I worked for Chrysler from 1975>2007 and owned a 79 , 1/2 ton for 14 years , (360 , 4BBL) so a lot of info, bouncing around in my head just a matter of scratching enough to dig it out.
So if you have a question , just send a personal message ( just click my name on this post for the drop box to PM me) and I'll do my best to help.

Hi Skip426,

Thanks for the responses and thanks for looking for a manual. I have passed your caution about the timing gears on to my boyfriend. I have no idea if it was replaced or not. He may be able to tell just by looking at it.

I will let him know of your generous offer about questions. He had a bugger of a time getting some parts for the RV already (wheel bearings and seals) but with a bit of perseverance (and a few swear words) he was able to get everthing he needed.

We are very excited to get this thing up and running and hit the road!

Important to have the( FAWR) front end axle weight rating information with you when ordering front end parts. Should be on the door sticker , but may have fallen off. Dodge used three different sets of front end components, depending on the total vehicle GVWR, and virtually nothing interchanged.
