2 to 1. FMCA VOTE

WOW - FMCA membership criteria passes 2 to 1. That speaks volumes! And I voted yes!

Regardless of how you voted, the fact that you voted and chose to speak out about this important issue is what really matters. Yes there are differences , but as an RV community having a one voice to speak for all of us as a independent organization is what matters most. Yes those of us who own a class A’s like the uniqueness of having our own group, but the demographics are changing and we either move forward or we don’t move in a direction that will take us where we need to be as a secure membership entity.

I wonder how this may affect the attendance at the Perry gathering in March.

I'm guessing the ratio coach to non-coach will be quit different from the past. Not that I think this would be a good or bad thing. We didn't vote as we are very new FMCA members and didn't feel we knew enough to cast an informed vote.

Now since Good Sams and FMCA are both going after the same crowd it’s just which one has the best benefits. No need to be members of both.

I voted NO based upon my thoughts of what I believed "original founding members" would have wanted when they formed the FMCA. I was sincerely surprised when this passed (especially with the margin shown). I'm wondering how the trailer folks will be welcomed at Rallies?

I am not surprised by the outcome, the partly line was you must vote yes for FMCA to survive, and there was no platform given to dissenting opinion, no opportunity for debate, etc. For months the FMCA magazine ran articles promoting yes vote, with no space given for opposing position, I attended a regional rally a couple of months ago, and it was the same, those on stage talked about how important it was to pass this vote, but again no time was given for those that opposed it to make their case, and there were plenty of people around who were against it, in fact I don't recall meeting anyone that was for it at the rally.

On a positive note, competition produces better programs and benefits for mrmbers.

Not surprised by the outcome. When Jon Walker attended a GLASS rally that I was at a few years ago. He was already pushing for all RV membership.
