jperry29 how would you like to become the "FIRST" member of a 5th KS to the "Newmar Owners Forum" it isn't exclusive just to the motorhomes, we are all Newmar owners. It will be added under your irv2 contributor entry with your pic. "007"

OO7, Sounds good to me.

I have been reading the Newmar forum but did not realize that there was a way to "sign" up.

I will pop over there and try that now.

Yes, the FMCA, not to be confused with the magazine, the FMC magazine. It's small 'taters, but it's a separate corp., so-o, the "A" was dropped. We, the FMCA,are the only RV Association that is owned by the members. This is unlike Good Sam and the Escapees. But we are a bunch of snobs, in that only motorhomes can become members.

Just thought I would add that little bit. Hope I haven't burst your bubbles of expectations. Actually, we're very humble. LOL

I have only been a FMCA member since '05 when we got our first coach. I didn't realize FMCA was member owned and really don't know what this means. ???

I will try and give you the program as it was given to me. We are not only members of the 'club', but we are the governing body as well. We have a say as to where we will have conventions and also we hold elections for office. With something like 'Good Sam or Escapes they don't own the clubs. the clubs are owned by an organization or group of some kind. Without 'us' there would be no FMCA. With the other groups they would be there even if there was only one or two members. With FMCA we would have to close our doors. Our dues pay for the electric and the magazine. the rally's help to pay for the other bills and other expenses. FMCA is a non-profit organization. Is supported by it's members.
I think I got it right. If not or I didn't hit on a subject please post it as I mostly forgot a lot of things. I hope this helpped to answer your question. Capt.

There is an old saying that goes "The only Dumb question is the one not asked". Your question wasn't dumb, just 'need to know'. Nothing wrong with that.
Have a good one, Dan

Thanks Dan. Guess the real difference is the not-for-profit aspect of FMCA. Boy could Good Sam's save money if they would just stop loading up my mail box with junk..

Yep, Know what you mean. I dropped the Good Sam and Camping World Because my monthly mailing bill was real close to $50.00 for forwarding the junk to me so I could throw it in the trash. I get a monthly news letter on-line and I give the FMCA Magazine to the camping sites we visit because we can view the mag. on-line, and anything we want to keep we print out.
Anything to keep our MH under weight is helping our fuel mileage.I used to have two overhead cabinets full all the time with the magazines and flyer's and books, Now I;m down to about half a cabinet. The computer and printer take up less space, and weigh less. Enjoy, Capt.
