Monacos in Motion, a chapter of FMCA, is a caravan club where the caravans are planned and led by club members. Although MIM members are given registration preference for caravans, the caravan leader can open the caravan to non-members when there is space available. Non-MIM members just need to be members of FMCA and can own any brand coach.

There is space available for the scheduled fall tour called Wines, Mines and More: An Educational and Gastronomical Tour of Northern California. The caravan begins on September 10, 2009 in Truckee, Ca and ends in Napa on September 27. The caravan is limited to 10 coaches. This is not a commercial tour (the tour leaders are MIM members and have to register and pay the same fees as do the rest of the attendees).

The 18 days are filled with great tours, wine tastings, educational programs (wines, cooking, history, etc) and lots of gourmet food (with wine matching by the chefs especially for our group).

For a complete itinerary goto www.deeandtom.org/MIM. Contact me at tom@deeandtom.org if you have questions or are interested in joining this caravan.

Tom...Welcome to iRV2!! I am trying to remember if I met you at Camp Monaco in Oregon last year??
Why don't you also place the info of the "Caravan" on our "Rally Calendar" ?

I may also see if I can get a few other Monaco Members interested - I wish I could attend because it is almost in "my own backyard" - but I am working full time -so maybe I will have to come down for a visit!

Good Luck -and please post the "caravan schedule" on our rally page...it may get others more interested!

Really would appreciate your making personal contact with fellow Monaco owners (not just Monaco brand but the other coaches made by the former MCC). It is not easy getting the word out not only about the Monacos in Motion club but this particular caravan. We have been on two MIM caravans (Tour of Virginia and Tour of Northern NM) and both were outstanding. The leaders of these caravans did a great job of mixing learning about the culture and history of the area with promoting commaderie. My wife and I felt that it was time to give back to the club which is why we volunteered to plan and colead this caravan. There is a great deal of interest in the history and beauty of Northern California not to mention learning more about the "nector of the gods."

We are not from the west coast but have always wanted to learn more about wine (everything from the growing to the drinking) and how wine is matched with gourmet food. We are full timers and enjoy the educational part of tours which is why we have modeled this caravan around other non-RV educational tours.

My wife and I were on the west coast last summer but we never made it north to Camp Monaco (although we have been there on several occasions). We spent three weeks in Northern California planning this caravan before heading to the Monaco International and FMCA rallies that were held in MN.

Sorry you are still engaged in that 4 letter word. Do plan to come down for a few days (give us a heads up so we can add you to the reservations). We have a great group of people already signed up.

I will place the caravan on the rally calandar.

Tom
