I would never want anyone and please no offense, especially a tow truck driver pulling the rear axles from my pusher. The one time I had it towed, they did pull and remove the drive shaft. I said pull and remove. I've heard of too many drive shafts being disconnected and tied up falling off during the tow. Plus, I can't imagine any tow truck driver equipped to remove the axles from a pusher parked on the side of the highway.

Front wheel drive cars and the Revcon MH front wheel drive have a drive shaft to each front wheel and should either be towed with the front wheels on a dolly or the front wheels raised.

This is of course just my opinion and my experience.

Yes you are right, REMOVING the driveshaft is the safest way to go. But yes, pulling the axles is relatively simple, I used to always tow car haulers this way, they have the stinger so low that they really cannot be lifted high enough to get at the driveshaft.
