Trip to Redmond

I am thinking of going to the Rally at Redmond. I live in Central California and will be taking the 5 up to Weed, Ca. From there it looks like Highway 97 for the rest of the trip. I have a step son in Klamath Falls so that route works great. BTW, this will be my first FMCA Rally.

Does anyone have any experience with the 97? Good Road? Mountains? I am completly unfamilar with Northern California and Oregon.

Thanks in advance.

This is an easy drive, we have done it several times. Much of the drive is 2 lanes but there is very little traffic and no surprises. Enjoy.

As the traveler said it is an easy drive. I've done it in a 36' and 43' with toad and no problem. If you are not on a time schedule...when you leave head over to Eugene and then to the coast for a liesurely drive home. State parks in Oregon are great and have hookups. Should you go the Coast (101) Brookings Or has Harris Beach State Park on a bluff over looking the Pacific.

As others have said it is an easy drive on a major North South mainly 2 lane highway. Do have to negotiate the mountains in the Klamath Falls area, but no big deal. Really a pretty drive into Redmond, just cannot be in an extreme hurry.
