Doesn't hurt to ask

Although Brett and I are upcoming full timer newbies (headed to NC in a few weeks and staying thru Oct)we have followed many of you here on just how the workamping works or doesn't work(for some).
In the many hours of my research, I finally just started asking different cg's that didn't have jobs listed on their websites IF they offered that option.
Well, we received a phone call today from one that I had inquired about -informing us that they would be new to offering such positions BUT had decided this year that they do need help.
So, I would say that if you have an area that you would like to be in, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Absolutely!! We have had a subscription to workamper news for the last 3 years but have not obtained a job through them. We hit the road to spend more quality time with family members spread across the US. We choose what area we want to be in, then look for a job there. Most are park hosting jobs but one of us works outside the cg sometimes. Whatever works!

We do volunteer positions, instead of positions for pay. We pick an area where we want to go and then hunt online for state parks in that area. We have had very good luck doing that. We are currently booked with volunteer positions through March 2010. We will then have our first for pay position through Labor Day 2010.
