Do you work there? My grandparents live on Gaines Ferry Rd right before you get to Van Pugh. I love that campground. They open it up to hurricane evacuees in winter. We’ve had to evacuate a few times in the past few years due to hurricanes here in Myrtle Beach.

I grew up on lake beside Van Pugh and have relatives that still live by Van Pugh. I also go to myrtle beach often, small world. It was in our local news they needed attendees or parks would not open.

We received a bid proposal mostly out of curiosity. We camp at Old Federal multiple times/season.

Does anyone have any background on how much to bid for a position like this? I never knew they even paid. I thought you just got a free campsite.

Old Federal is a really nice park in a great location. They shouldn't have much trouble finding camp hosts, I would think.

We had a friend bid $6/hr and won the bid for a COE park in MO. I would bid high unless you really wanted the job bad, say $10/hr. Let them contact you if it's too high and then decide.

Well they closed Old federal indefinite due to water erosion on the banks. I guess they are afraid someone might fall in the lake.

A couple of COE parks on Lanier close to the dam were not open this past season due to not being able to find attendants. Heard this from park rangers - otherwise, I don't know for a fact.
