Although, my interests definitely involves Historic Interpretation/work. I am willing to consider other options, i.e. camp hosting, etc., to be able to explore and learn about the local history.
Palo Duro is one of those locations. The minimum requirement is one month, which they encourage, to determine if the location is a good fit for a longer commitment. The Volunteer Coordinator is very responsive, and flexible in scheduling.
I have searched forum(s) and could not find any information where anyone has volunteered at Palo Duro.
Has anyone been involved as a Volunteer Camp Host at Palo Duro Canyon State Park?,,,If so, what was your experience?
Thanks for any information.

Somewhere in Palo Duro Canyon State Park you might find 200 - $20.00 gold pieces. They are buried 3 ft deep at the site of an old cabin.
Might pay for your stay.
Can't remember the book with the info in it, but it may be J. Frank Dobie.

I am pretty late reading your post, but have worked as a volunteer at Palo Duro several years ago. Good experience. If you are still interested, I can give a lot more info. My e-mail is jbp-rac@att.net

jbprac,
thanks for the response, but as time goes on, looks like we will be further east this year,,,,,again.....Palo Duro won't work this year.
It's on to Davy Crockett Birthplace State Historical Park. Planning on stopping by The Alamo on the way and take Davy's spirit home to his birthplace.
obtw,,,welcome to the forum. There are lots of folks here with a lot of RV experience under their belt.
Safe Highways
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
