For those of you that have found workamping jobs (hosting, general maint., check-in, etc.), what was your method of acquisition? was it from Workamper News, word of mouth, this forum, etc. Thanks in advance, Bob T

We use volunteer.gov for all volunteer positions.

We've only ever done state park hosting (mostly lighthouses) so we've gotten all our jobs through the state park volunteer website for Oregon and Washington.

We were members of Workamper for several years but never got a job through them, no fault of theirs. We like to choose our location first then look for a position. We only volunteer, so most of them have been state parks and most state parks have their own website. I saw an ad on Escapees several years ago that worked out for us in the NC state parks. Sometimes I have just used the phone to start calling all the parks in the area to see if they use workampers.

We are members of Workamper News, but only use the daily hotline email. I think their website is cumbersome, poorly constructed, and the whole organization is second only to Good Sam in the incessant sales pitches. But the hotline alone is worth a few bucks a month.
That said, we've never found a job through them. We spend about half our time volunteering at either State Parks or National Wildlife Refuges, for which we use Volunteer.gov and State Park websites, or just call the facility directly. When I work for a few months it's usually Amazon, or local employment-- more worthwhile than min wage in a campground.

We work through WorkatKOA.com. $35.00 a year to post both resumes. Access to jobs in every state. Easy to navigate their site. You can tailor your requirements of F/T, P/T, seasonal, etc. Once you set what states your wanting to work in, CG's will contact you or you can contact those who are hiring. The advantage to KOA is once you learn their system, you can work at any of them without having to relearn another system.

DW and I kind of fell into our first shot at workamping. In the CG we were staying, a position announcement was posted in the CG's laundry room. We responded, got interviewed, etc... We start our first post 4/1/15 and then we will return to the original CG to start a stint with them on 10/1/15. So, sometimes it's being in the right place at the right time.

DH & I worked 2 tourist seasons in Juneau AK. It wasn't workamping but what I refer to as working the dream. We wanted to see more of this part of AK so we got positions with a tour operator. We made enough to cover our expenses & then some.
Is there someplace you want to visit for a good length of time? If it's in a tourist area, then do you have a skillset that would fit with a reputable tour operator? And is there a cg or rv park that will allow you to stay long term? Just something else for you to consider.
