Has anyone had any experiences with Southern Cross out of Georgia? They are a company that does contract work, the do propane leak detection and electric meter installs.

We have friends that did this type work and enjoyed it. They worked for a different company in another state, I believe. As I recall, lots of walking in different environments and weather. Sorry I don’t have personal experience to offer.

I've worked as a traveller for Southern Cross since October '16. You can ask me any questions you have here or in a PM.

following, we're about a year or two from chasing the grandkids to Ohio, and I not excited about Ohio winters, so this might be a part time snowbird gig.

Heath Consultants Inc. may be the other company that was mentioned before. I am currently employed by Heath as a traveling Gas Leak Detection Technician. I have been working for them since October 1st. It’s a good company to work for and I get plenty of exercise on a daily basis with good benefits. The work is tough sometimes and the weather can be brutal. You earn the money, but it’s a way travel and earn a living. PM me if you are interested.

If you are interested in Heath Consultants Inc. you can email me or go to their website Heathus.com. I am not able to respond to pm. The website shows the openings that are available.

In this case, if it's Ralph or me, getting our IRL names to drop them when you call is encouraged. Who knows if that might help us both out somehow.

Bigmess.... I spoke with Southern Cross a couple of years ago. At that time they also paid travel mileage as well as wage + per diem. Is that still the case?

Thanks for the info Ralph.

Does Heath also pay per diem and pay mileage while traveling?

Southern Cross pays a wage, per diem, and mileage. The details around mileage pay sometimes changes from one project to another. Always, always contact the Project Manager for the project you are going to for travel miles pay so you know what to expect.

The same is likely also true for Heath?
