There are 5 basic positions. Taking entry fees at the gate. Working in the Nature/Visitor Center. Doing park/camp maintenence, camp host in the family campground and trail maintanence The first 2 require computer skills the 2nd 2 envolve cleaning restrooms and dumping garbage. All require a background check, fingerprinting and a driving course as all positions require driving Maricopa County vehicles.

Our primary job is the entry station but occasionally fill in at the nature center. There really isn't anything we don't like about working here. This is our 1st work camping experience and I think one needs the right attitude at the onset.

There are several other Maricopa County Parks in the system besides White Tank. The below link explains the program and gives contact info to apply and/or ask questions.

The peak season here is Nov 1st thru Easter. Park Supervisors begin planning for the next season when volunteers begin to leave in the spring. They do "Exit" interviews to see who is coming back. They like to see new people arrive by Nov 1st or earlier (if possible) to be trained by the 1st. We arrived mid-Oct last year.
