We are curentley in SD for the summer but will be going up to Sidney Montana in Sept for the sugar beet harvest and when its over we will be heading to columbs OH wondering if any one else will be there or travelling the same roads during that time am a little concerned with open camp grounds for nightly lay over on the way south after the harvest

There aren't many around there you'd want to stay at and now with the oil boom it would be hard to find space in those. One was just a gravel lot with electric hookups right on the highway. There was another in town but didn't appear to savory. Another appeared to be a mobile home/campground combo. Guys were living in campers two years ago all year long because housing was and just got tighter. My husband is working in Dickinson, ND and may end up parking our little 5th wheel Scamp in the company lot. The north branch of the Teddy Roosevelt National Park is south of Watford City, an hour from Sidney but you have to remember there is an hour differnce in time change. That looked decent and no shortage of buffalo chips.
