The economy is moving up to the 10% unemployed level and people are resorting to more and more drastic measures in order to survive until the turn-around. This article talks about the moving that people are involved in. Workamping is leaving the realm of "life-style choice" and entering the zone of "what else is there for me?"
We need to help each other.

KHB,

I agree. This is no time to be stingy. Personally, I don't see how people can even afford groceries these days. Everything is so expensive and when you're making $10/hr., you're only taking home $8/hr. This doesn't leave much for things like rent, gas, utilities, and other necessities. The FBI recently attributed the rising murder rate in small towns to the current economy. I guess the stress has to come out somewhere.

Jack

We just joined Escapees in part to support a very humane organization, one that sets up a safety net for the poor using lots of free-will gifts and labor. I am thinking of Escapees CARE, of course. They are a large part of why our world is bearable by the poor and needy-- we band together and live modestly, sharing resources, being a community of pilgrims on a path that has its bumps.
