About 20 years ago, I worked at the post office during the holidays as a part-time job. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the sorting facilities as a holiday work source recently? With the high internet sales volume (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.) there is probably a fair amount of work. What do you think?

If you are close to a regional distribution center, I would go apply if that's what you want to do. They are building a new distribution center here in SC in the north western part of the state and I expect they will be hiring locals to man the facility. This should be a common practice across the country.

I know that here in Columbia SC where both FedEx and UPS have significant distribution centers they have holiday temps to both help both in the sorting and delivery. Instead of just a driver, they will have the driver and a helper. I suspect this too is common practice. But as you may remember both these jobs can be fast paced and require one to be in good physical shape.
