Hi...we are relatively new to work camping. We've tried to do this for years, but I had health issues that needed to be resolved, so FINALLY did it. Enjoyed a Summer up in the Rockies of CO. Worked for Thousand Trails. The job was terrific.
Then hubby decided he might work for Amazon.com (they contacted us through our Workamper.com Awesome Applicant site) but I decided I could not (well, didn't want to) handle the long 10 hour days (4 days per week) and the mandatory overtime after a while. He loves it...keeps busy, works nights until 4:30 a.m. and it's very versatile. He keeps plenty active and is NOT bored. They pay for site and we pay electricity. We are at a lovely park in Sparks, NV and the weather has been beautiful but going to FINALLY get cold and into normal temps. Have enjoyed the warmer, mild temps.
Now to what we need: We are obviously LATE it finding a winter job. The work camper positions are filled by now and until and unless someone doesn't work out or leaves for whatever reason, we will likely not find a job in that arena...but since we are POSITIVE folks for the most part, I am putting this out there: If anyone knows of a position that opens up for a couple (at least one of us needs to work for pay) in a mild climate or warm one for that matter, we'd love to be considered. We can supply references from our last job and we passed a Criminal Background check for both jobs, so we are all set that way. Rick is a carpenter by trade and can do anything he sets his minds to, but does not want to work computers. I was an office worker (Secretary-Customer Service, etc.) and also have hotel (inn) reservation/front desk experience, retail sales and can learn new things too. Both of us are true People Persons and love Rv'ers a whole lot. Could be because they are some of the best people in the world!
We can be reached through
vjm78676@hotmail.com. So, let us know if you know of something. We'd really like W. coast FL but who doesn't? We have family in Bradenton, and it used to be home to me, so I'd love it there. But will consider anything good.
Thanks all and good to meet you.
