We have been workamping since 2005. We left Vancouver, WA in 10/05 and have worked on the East Coast, West Coast and some places in between. We have met so many great people - both workampers and the guest in the park.

The East Coast you are more apt to find jobs you get paid more money doing. Summers you also have a better chance of getting site plus money than in the winter. Probably cause there are fewer jobs and more people looking wiling to work just for site in the warmer south.

Not only in parks, but there are jobs near tourist areas where you can work getting paid for all hours worked and then you pay for a site at a nearby park they arrange with. There are two places I wanted to work but it never worked out was the west entrance to Yellowstone Park and Dollywood.

My husband has Alzheimer's so until he has passed on I will have to stay put. Then I hope I am still able to travel, work and experience our great country.

We were given advice years ago by Workampers that were attending our church: don't wait until you are 65. If you can do it before, then do it. So glad we took it because we would not have had the few years we did.
