I bought a 16x8 RV mat at a community yard sale last Friday for $14. The owner had a Class A and had just bought a new one.

I took it out camping last night at a friends house in the country who invited RVers to watch fireworks.

At first glance a friend joked, "Is that a slip'n slide?" I love it and did great keeping the dirt out.

Hope you don't go boondocking at WallMart and shower outside there! LOL, Just kidding. I get a kick out of the Wall Mart post. I love to find a good bargan at a yard sale and I am all for saving a few buck when you can in this economy! I really don't like flea markets much, most of their stuff now is dollar tree stuff and they are there week after week. It is just a business for them and they buy junk from china for the most part. You have to go out from the buildings to find any really good stuff. I once knew a couple who would drive around the night before garbage pickup and pick up anything beside the road for the garbage man that they thought they could sell and they made a killing off of this junk! Juanita

I usually just use indoor/out door carpet. The green kind and it looks a little like grass. Roll it up and throw it in your basement, not problem!

A few weeks ago I purchased an almost new sunshade for the front windshield of my class B. I got it for $1.99 at a Goodwill Store. I am more excited about finding an exact fit than the price.

I go to a few garage sales, but I must tell you about the RV park we stayed at for the winter. We are in So Cal at a large park with over 1,000 spaces. It is a Canadian snow bird haven! When we arrived in October last year the place was almost empty, by February this year it was full of snow birds. People coming and going all the time.

It seems every time I go to the trash I find something useful there. I am not the trash digger type, but I just can't pass up the free deals. It seems the birds like to lighten their load before traveling, and they throw away the best stuff!

I will attempt to list all the things I have found this year off the top of my head.
2 nice propane BBQ's one is a small patio model the other is a good size portable model, both just needed cleaning. A working DVD player, 2 different large patio mats (the plastic fiber kind they sell at camping world for $80) both just needed cleaning. A portable aluminum camping table with storage bag, two nice folding camp chairs (I found many more but kept the 2 nicest ones) a couple different bottom steps for reaching the automatic step of the RV. A brand new looking ottoman with storage lid, we put our blankets inside of it. A near new kitchen faucet (someone must have been remodeling) Various tools and general camping supplies, equipment. Nice plastic containers and so on.

As if that is not enough there was one other big item I found.

When the grandkids come over we usually let them play games on our laptops. It makes me a little nervous because the kids might accidentally mess something up. I was looking on Craigslist for a cheap used laptop for them, when low and behold I find an older laptop in the trash. I took it back thinking there is no way this thing works, found the power supply not working so I ordered one on ebay for $15. I was totally astonished when I plugged it in and the laptop booted up. Someone had evidently thrown it out because the power supply went bad. The kids love it because it is theirs, with their name on it!

I have truly saved a ton of money on all kinds of items for our RV this season.

Just now I'm kind of "Conservative" when it comes to yard sales, You see, no car to travel with.

But I back before car died I did hit the yard sales and such, picked up a few goodies and more recently I got a very nice GPS at a Habittat for Humanity store. 30 bucks for a Street Pilot III. fully loaded map wise, Recently updated too. Nice box.

Picked up a zero gravity folding recliner chair for $4 the other day. Still looks good but more importantly it's nice and comfy
