This is a secret that I have kept for some time but now I must share. There is a county park, Spring Creek Park, located in Tomball,TX which is a suburb of Houston. They have full hook up 50 amp, water, sewer back in sites and the price is right...FREE.

The only downside is they lock the gates at 10PM and unlock at 6 AM. Emergency services have access.

Here's the site:

Harris County Precinct 4

I looked at the photos on the website you linked, very nice!

Now that you've 'let the cat out of the bag', I have a hunch it'll stay full and you'll never be able to get a site for yourself again.

That's always been my dilemma! My kids all live within 20 minutes of the place also.

Thank you SO much for that info! Do they book fast? How long can you camp there? Is there a shower facility? bathrooms? dump station? I will look at the website further.

My husband's daughter and our grandson live in Houston and it would be so nice to be able to get down there and spend winter with them.

You can make reservations there for up to 7 days, once every 30 days. There are only a few sites - it is not a campground, only a county park. It is very close to my house, in a nice area close to Tomball.
