I've never been very comfortable in any hotel/motel bed, ever. I am, however, very comfortable in my bed, and I change the sheets once a month whether they need it or not.
As for laws about changing sheets, or anything else for that matter, some people break laws.
Getting back to keeping warm, it's almost time to start heading a bit north. It's going to reach 80 in SW AZ & SE CA for a few days in early February.

If you really want to be thankful you have an RV, you should have seen a recent nighttime news show (can't remember which one) that did an expose on bedbugs in hotels. Even 5 star ones. Turns out that even if they change the sheets, the bugs can be in the mattress. YUCK! One lady got so bit up, it looked like she had some disease. It was an upscale hotel she stayed in too.

At WDW there was a sign in our bathroom requesting that we reuse our towels. Only towels left in the tub or floor would be washed. They also did not change the sheets the 5 nights we were there. It was at a value though at $77 per night. I hope the WDW hotels that are $350 a night at least give you new towels and sheets everyday.

As for changing my sheets at home. I used to change them once a week. Now I only do it when they need it, which with 5 kids, turns out to be more frequently, especially during flu season. And we have 6 beds to change!!! I REALLY need a bigger washer. I am dreaming about those frontloaders.

Back on topic. I like all the tips about keeping warm. I saw one person take the reflectix insulation and cut it to fit in between the screen and canvas of the bedends of his popup. We also all cuddle together and sleep to the inside. I would be tempted to put all of us in the king on one end, but am sure the popup would tip. Boy that would be a site huh. The kids wear their footie pajamas (wish they made some in my size). We also bought a little heater at WM for about $15. It has a temp control, 2 heat settings, and oscillates. It was a life saver at WDW this Feb.

About Hotels and Motels:

We stopped at K Falls, Oregon at a motel,

with a nationally known name, paid our

money for the room, and went upstairs to it.

Long story short, we got our money back and

left.

For whatever reason, my DW threw back the covers

on the motel bed--and the black bed bugs

scattered everywhere!!!
