Not to sound like a jerk but roommates going to psych wards, food stamps, ssi, never driven a motorhome, scared of turns, don't know how to budget, no emergency funds and very little for repairs, gas or food? This just sounds like a tragedy waiting to happen. Sounds like adding risk and expense to a situation that is already teetering on the brink is ridiculous. Set the dreams aside and get everything else in order first. If you can't afford to feed yourself you certainly can't pay for the most minor unforeseen repair to an RV. Reevaluate your situation, spend much more time planning. Good luck.

If your credit score is below 680 you will pay high interest and short term. Speaking from experience and even though on SSD - Disability, many wanted big down payments or balloon payments, or both! You will need to research and start small and trade up!

If the bank says you shouldn't !!!

If the bank says you shouldn't, there's a reason for it not just because they don't like you or because they think the risk is to high.
More then likely because the numbers prove that you can't afford it the way you're planning it!
Now that does not mean there's no way to do it, Like some have already suggested start saving, just because you're 60 it's not to late.
Save and start with something smaller then what you're planning now, you're not being realistic with yourself that is why the bank says no.
You don't need a classA with a small car in tow to live the dream, especially on you're own!
A medium sized class C with a Bike or a Scooter, is pure Luxury! Think about it!

Paying Cash you save all that interest and you get to spend it on yourself and your lifestyle like you should.

Good Luck, Best Regards,
Ed

I realize this is an old thread, fyi, local credit union financed my 20 year old Winnie with no down. Paid 12,500.
Payments approx 370 for 36 months.
Credit score 725
Banker said no problem, up to 80% of high resale, on anything we wanted, 4%

I never use credit for loans, only monthly balances, that is why my credit score is 885...

That's funny since the max is 850. Mine is above 825.

Several banks / agencies use their own scoring system that goes to 950 + .. Not a true "FICO" score, and it has its own ranges .. Not the FICO ones. As long as you compare apples to apples ....

No Money Down

Base FICO[emoji768] Scores (FICO[emoji768] Score 8) range from 300-850, while industry-specific (auto and credit card) FICO[emoji768] Scores range from 250-900.

Therefore, like I was saying, I never use “credit” for loans, only monthly balances...
