Practical Answers

I've seen a lot of discussion on here as well as other Internet locations where answers to questions are pretty complicated and are "conservative". It seems to me that a lot of us are looking for "practical answers" that are effective and cost-conscious. Sometimes these are clever...which I like. So I thought I'd start a thread on that.

My first practical answers are:

1. For plugging in your electric on your RV at home you can use an adapter and go to a regular 120 volt outlet and only have limited power. Or for more power you can run heavier wiring and you use an expensive "RV box" like is at campgrounds. They are about 125 bucks. The cheaper solution is to go to Lowes or Home depot and buy a receptacle that matches your plug from the camper. They are 6-12 bucks.

2. You can buy expensive outdoor mats for your patio area outside and they can be pretty expensive from CW. OR you can use an old entry rug (like in office entryways) from a local commercial vendor who supplies businesses with those. You ask for their used rugs that they might throw away or sell cheaply. Alternatively you can use an old "sisal" rug from a yard sale.

10-4 on yard sales! I bought a like-new Coleman 12V refrigerator in Florida for $20. Had to go buy a 120VAC converter to 12VDC for $35, that made me have $55 in a great 12V refrigerator. I have it in the MH basement, makes a great beer and soda cooler. I found another at a different yard sale for $15, but it had been used as a deep-well tank on a boat, smelled terrible-I passed.
