I was wondering how old your kids were when you started letting them explore the campgrounds on their own. Mine are 12,10 and 5 (6 in Jan) and they had a blast this past weekend riding their bikes, going to the playground and exploring. I made sure that my 5 year old was always with one of his sisters. I am trying to teach the kids proper campground etiquette (not yelling across the sites, not cutting through sites, leave the site cleaner than we found it, etc). What are some of the things kids do at campgrounds that really drive you crazy ??

Shannone-we have 3 boys ages 10, 9 and 8 and we have been camping since our middle one was 3 months old. About 3 years ago we set them 'free' at campgrounds. We make sure they have a walkie talkie w/ them and for the most part they are with each other or one of the other kids from the familes we camp with. They love the freedom--much more than at home! We have also instilled in the the same campground etiqute that you have-we even instill it in kids that we don't know who cut through sites-my pet peeve when camping!!!
