Well on the way into work in Ottawa this morning, gas reached 93.1 cents a litre. They were predicting $1.00 per litre by July. Looks like that will happen sooner.

The CTV news showed a gas station in BC where it is over 1 dollar a litre.
Premium was just over 1 dollar when I filled our gerry can for the snow blower and generator Saturday night / Sunday morning.
$17.00 for a 5 gallon gerry can and it didn't fill it to the top!!!!!
Good thing I filled the van and truck in Buffalo, only $2.13 (USA dollars) a gallon.
Mike.

Gas has been holding steady (!!??) at around 87 cents a litre here in Edmonton, Alberta. I am sure it will go up when people start travelling more, and especially just before a long weekend!!
I remember fondly the days when gas was 42 cents a litre and it only cost $18 to fill my little car up. My van takes $60 now and hubby's 1997 F150 XLT Supercab takes even more!! Do you think your travel plans will be affected by these gas prices? We tend to stay within about 3 hours of home. ( Of course part of that is due to the fact the truck has 330,000 kms on it! )

Gas this morning in Ottawa was 82.5 cents a litre. It has dropped a bit since my last post. Hope it continues the downward slide, but I doubt it. Currently it will cost $109.73 to fill up the van. Oh well life goes on.

Hello Campers to our North!
The wife and I are planning a camping trip to Maine and Nova Scotia next summer (2008) and were considering traveling through Ontario to get there. It is about 90 miles shorter through Canada than around Lakes Erie and Ontario, but it sounds like the shorter distance would be more costly, gas-wise, than the longer route. Any advice or opinions?
Thanks!

the post you replied to is OLD..but the gas prices here in Ontario are still high. Diesel today at our local small town station is 92.9/liter. There are about 3.78liters to the US gallon. Do the math..and for you trip in 2008-can't predict the price! the route would be shorter for you, then do it-we leave in October and travel thru Michigan on our way to Arizona..its still cheaper than flying and we take "the rolling condo" with us!! Go for it! It all in the adventure..Dona
