Hi all it has been a long time since I have been on here. My wife and I are planning a trip up Canada way starting in June, plan on going up thru Calgary and Edmonton, then over to Jasper and Banff. Anyone have any suggestions of what not to miss or what not to bother about. Wife has a Med. problem so have to be careful about elevation. I have been up that way back in 1997 but was on way to Alaska so really need to make this just a Canada thing. Will apprreciate any thing anyone can offer.

Hi there, I have lived in Calgary or Edmonton for the last 15 years and love Banff and Jasper. I recommend the following web page, it takes a while to load but it includes a list of campgrounds in Alberta and some great links about Alberta. Hope it helps!!

If I could add my 2 cents worth. June has the Calgary stampede on which is famous. I have never been there before, but will be there this year. If you do go, I suggest advance purchase of tickets and RV park reservations are a must. Also to take in a drive of the icefields parkway between Banff and Jasper is great.

I have given you some wrong information. The Calgary stampede is on in July. Sorry 'bout that.

Raven: In addition to above suggestions, try Drumheller(dinosaurs)Bad Lands, maybe a fish in the Bow River. There's a nice park at Cochrane, north of Calgary run by the Kiwanas Club, priced right and handy to all amenities.
