A friend of mine wants to take his grandkids on a 2 week vacation this summer in a motorhome and needs places to take them.
They are leaving from Arkansas heading East, West or North and he intends to rent a motorhome. The grandkids are 5,7,11 and 13 and have not done anything like this before. He would like to drive 200-250 miles and see something then drive 200 miles and see something else.
I was thinking of Disney but it is too hot in the Summer and then thought of a dude ranch but don't know of any and if they will accomodate a motorhome.
He is new to Rving and hasn't done anything so this will be new to him and his wife as well.

One suggestion would be Memphis
Memphis / Graceland RV Park & Campground
Campground's website: ttp://www.memphisgracelandrvpark.com/
to St Louis. There is a campground in East St Louis by the metro which would take you to the sites.
to Chesterton Indiana. Indiana Dunes state park is great. There is a train station about 2 miles from the park which takes into Chicago and in the other direction Notra Dame.
From there he could drive over to Sandusky OH. cedarpoint.com Cedar point is a great amusement park. They have a campground right onsite

Missouri, Kentucky, Tennesee,Oklahoma, and Texas all have some great sites for kids. And the first question is: have they seen their own great state. Bull Sholls (near Branson), Degrays Lake, and Hot Springs are all great outdoor locations. In Missouri, St. Louis (Gateway Arch, Six Flags, Forest Park Zoo), Lake of the Ozarks, Branson and Silver Dollar City should all be entertaining for kids. In Kentucky there's Land Between the Lakes, Bowling Green (Corvette Museum and Corvette Plant), Lexington (Kentucky Horse Park), and Mammoth Cave. In Tennesee go to Memphis (Graceland, Civil Rights Museum), Nashville (Country Music Museum and more), and Knoxville/Gatlinburg area(Dollywood, Pigeon Forge in general, Great Smokey Mountain NP). I recommend that your buddy go to the web site for all those states' tourism bureaus and get some more good kid-friendly sites. I would also put historic sites, national monuments and NP at the top of the must-do list. But thats a wide range in age for kids, they may only be interested in amusement parks and RV Parks with swimming pools!
