I just completed that same ordeal. I moved into my MH the last 2 weeks before closing. Unloading 10 years worth of stuff wasn't fun but it is doable. I've since found out there is still stuff I can live without, will be doing more getting rid of stuff as I go.

I left Oregon yesterday. Headed to New Orleans first, then who know???? LOL

Best of luck, it's stressful but worth it.

Stay flexible, and embrace change. Not everything is going to go "as planned."

Soon, you will be past this part and welcome to where the grass is really greener.

Wow, We can relate to that! We've been in the same house for 21 years, I think in some states it is illegal for you to have this much stuff! Sale is on the 16th and can't wait till it's over!

Congratulations! We also stayed in the MH nearby for a week or so. It is nerve racking and we second guessed ourselves alot. Once we got on the road from NC to CA, we began to relax. Now after almost 2 years, we are enjoying our travels and also working at campgrounds short term. We have no regrets and love having the freedom to lift the jacks and move whenever we feel like it. Good luck and keep us posted.

Take some time for yourselves - do something nice for each other. Everything else will fall into place. A great adventure awaits you - we're into our 7th year and still finding new things all the time. And remember - Wal-Mart has everything that you will forget you need.

First off,, CONGRATS on your new life style!! I fully understand what your going through. We sold our place in July and are just now getting ready to hit the road on the 14th or 15th.
It certainly can be a long and stressful yet exciting road to reach the point you (and we) are now. Have fun with it.

We've been doing it for 2.5 yrs and right now we're down in South Carolina. I heard a great saying down here "Start the day slow, then tapper off". I think that applies to going full time. I've figured out our mileage over the last 2 yrs and if we traveled every day I think we'd be averaging about 7.5 miles/day. A big day of driving is about 4 hrs and that only because we have to be somewhere. Right now my next big appointment is 4/1/13.
You're welcome to check out our blog, actually my DF does 99.999% of it.

We've been "out there" for almost 3 years, wouldn't go back to a sticks and bricks. We recently cleaned out all of the cabinets, closets and bays to discard anything we thought we needed when we started out but haven't touched for 3 years. You'll probably do the same thing, start out taking "stuff" you think you can't do without, then realize you can live with a lot less. You'll also find that it takes a while to settle in to this life style, for us it felt like we were on vacation for several weeks. Good luck with your adventure.
