ANTS!!!!!

Here a new one to us.

We have been FT 5 years all over the country.
Pulled in to a CG in east coast of NC right after they got 12" of rain, Our sight was a island literally! we're there 3 days its still raining. I keep the coach treated with Home defense.(I have a severe allergy to Fire ants) noticed a few red ants in the coach so treated some more and no more.
Jumped in the jeep to go to town on day 4. AND ANTS everywhere, I had to pull out the carpet and spray everything down. I swear I got a coffee can full of them out of there. The whole colony must have moved it to get out of the flooding.

If you can, move.

If you can’t, make sure and spray any part of your rig that touches the ground. Example, water hose, electrical hose, levelers, including up to the top. Due to all the rain, you may be spraying daily but at some point the rain has to end.

How awful for you! We had the same problem once when we went to Hawaii and rented a car. Put our luggage in the rear and when we stopped the whole car was loaded with ants. They must have been layin' low (under carpeting, etc.) until we got moving.

We just experienced the same issue with ants in Austin, TX. We purchased a product called “Terro Liquid Ant Bait”. Simply break the top off, place them around the outside of the motor home and wait about 24 hours and the suckers are gone. It works on the premise that the ants feed on the bait and take it back for the colony to feed. It works. We placed some yesterday and this morning there were no ants. We also had to place one on the kitchen counter since we had them inside. The hardest part is watching and waiting cause as they feed. There can be quite an infestation. You kind of just want to spray them.

Make sure no part of your RV is touching a tree branch. Spray around the tires.. on the ground & also your hookups is a good place where they can come in... sewer hose, water & electric connections.
