Looking for first hand accounts of long term stay at this park. Want to get an idea of costs for long term stay. I emailed them and I got a monthly rate but electric is not included. And what do RV use a lot of? Electric!

For as little as $58 you can meter your own electric use. I bought one because I park in my daughter's backyard. We install it today.

This is a problem around the country. When you ask how much they charge for electricity they say it depends on how much you use. What you want to know is how much per kilowatt hour they charge for their electricity. I have seen it range from 8 cents to 15 cent per kilowatt hour around the country and from 10 to 15 cents when two parks bought their power from the same utility company.

As for metering your own energy usage the rv park will only consider the reading from their own meter. The best way to do it is to find out when they read your meter and record it at that time. It will never be the same but it should be in the ball park so you know your being fairly charged.

I never would have thought of that. How do you know where to buy it and if it will be accurate? And is it very difficult to install or hook up?
Thank You for your great advice. I look forward to hearing more.

If I ask the managers at the park will they know and will they tell me? Or should I call the electric company they use? Thank you for explaining how it works. I look forward to your reply.

I am presently in this park on monthly rate. Electricity is 9 cents and you read the meter yourself. No hocus-pocus here! There is a $30.00 meter deposit that is deducted from final bill.

We stayed there for 4 months and you could not have picked a better park. From the management down the staff is great. We are in Texas for the winter and the electric rate goes anywhere from 10 to 15 cents a KWH. The rate while I was there was 9 cents a KWH. They charge what it cost them. We had a high of 97.00 and a low of 45. You can watch your useage by monitoring appliances and such. Propane was cheap also. Good luck we will be back there in March.
