I was very firm. Whatever the DW wanted, I strived to obtain!

-Adequate CCC
-Adequate Fresh/Grey/Black
-Adequate Battery Bank
-Adequate Solar system
-Adequate storage inside, and basement

All of the above, are dependent upon how you vision you will use your rig. But generally, all of the above fit into the 'Bigger/Larger is better...' way of thinking.

Some Must Have's for us were:
-Tag
-Side Radiator
-Air Levling
-Thee AC's, preferably 15K units (We did not get that, settled with two 15K's.)
-Large non slide galley (More cabinet space, and less worries from moving plumbing. Counter space was a major 'Yes Dear!'
-Hydro/Aqua Hot
-Large shower
-Separate room for the throne
-Slide/roll out basements
-IFS
-Jake Compression (Preferred 3 stage, ended with 2 stage.)
-Self cleaning/waxing paint (Sadly, not yet invented...)

The DW and I worked very hard on our before purchase due diligence. So we ended up with the majority of the items that we wanted.

If you are looking for one key bit of advice on this quest - work together on what you both feel are important, and when a conflict comes up - compromise. (Good example, my DW wanted as much inside space as possible. So that would either mean four slides, or two super slides. I knew from our experience with our Bounder non slide RV, that many of our favorite area campgrounds would not hold us width wise if we had slides on both sides of the coach. So we compromised, with two slides on the Drivers side only. And we're still talking, though at times I feel the DW maybe is more mumbling then talking!

Best of luck to you on your quest,
Smitty

As full timers we passed on rigs with small shower enclosures and tight toilet areas...yes we are larger than many others.

We had two main "must haves". A residential refrigerator and a stacked washer and dryer. The RV we got had both, but no desk. In stead it had two coaches, one which was removed and a custom desk built in it's place.

We've now been living it it 4 years and are quite satisfied.

We fell in love with our RV because of the counter space and size of the bathroom. Ours has 6ft of counter space around the range plus a large island. So many of the layouts have broken and small counter spaces throughout the kitchen. Our bath has 2 sinks and tons of space. No problems both of us using it at the same time.

The stuff I really, really wouldn't want to live without are the high quality materials throughout such as exterior grade plywood in the floor and ceilings, our 3 1/4" walls with R21 insulation, Magnum inverter, and Trimetric battery monitor.

Most of our priorities have already been identified but here are our top10:

1. Quality tires
2. Upgraded matress
3. Washer and Dryer
4. Auto leveling jacks
5. 4 season basement
6. Adequate AC (we added a 3rd)
7. Dual pane windows
8. Satelite dish
9. Storage/closet space
10. Grill and beer cooler

Full timing is definitely different that vacationing. You will want the creature comforts. Good luck and enjoy!
